We’re watching that Mum! August 28, 2009

I put Ice age on this morning for the boys and as usual 15 minutes after it started they had lost interest and wandered off. I asked Luke if he was watching it and got the standard reply “yep, definately watching it!”
So I turned it off,,,,, guess how long it took them to figure it out….
3 HOURS! lol
But they were definately watching it properly!!!!!!!!!
Water fights and sheep Shearing! May 26, 2009

We’ve had a brilliant bank holiday weekend.
We had a trip into town on saturday afternoon and i took a change of clothes and a towel for the kids so they could go in the fountains in the market place.
I bought the water pistols so they could give each other a really good soaking!
We then had a quick trip to Forest Town park. There used to be 3 parks near my Mum and Dads house when we were little, now theres one and it takes at least half an hour to walk there with my two wandering along at snails pace. It’s such a shame. No wonder so many children are obese these days!
Sunday was a very hectic day. We got up and went to Hardwick Hall Farm Shop to watch the sheep shearing. Jack wasnt so bothered but Luke was fascinated. He loved the pig pens too, (They stunk)
Karl and Jack headed off into mansfield for the suit fitting for Aarons wedding next weekend while we stayed to watch more sheep being sheared. I think Lukes favourite part was watching some of the sheep jumping once they had got rid of thier heavy fleeces!
Heres some pictures, The one of th big black pig really doesnt show how huge he really was!
Once we’d finished there we headed into town to meet Karl and Jack. Kids were bored while they were trying suits on so we took them for a quick splash in the fountains……
Sorry Emma and Azz, they got slightly wetter than we thought! lol

Today we got up early and headed off to Sherwood Pines in Old CLipstone. They have been holding a Change for Life family fun day.
There were lots of different activities on offer for kids an adults to try, circus skills, Zorbing, Face painting, Bike Skills demonstrations, basically anything to get kids up and moving around.
One of the demonstrations was of bushcraft and shelter building, we sat and watched a demonstration on how to make a fire using a few pieces of wood……
( can you guess what coming up?)
Luke sat as good as gold watching what was going off. Then a bit later on we sat playing football and generally messing about.Jack sat down and started to try and make a fire! (well pretended to!)
Cue about twenty minutes of them playing making a fire…. Luke gave in in the end huffing about not having any string to use to get the fire going.
I now have 2 and 3 year old pyromaniacs!!!!!!!!!!!!
As always, heres some pics!

Thank you to Mr Geek for the tag!
I now have to
List 5 current addictions and then tag 2 people.
Ive stuck this on both blogs as Im cheating and feeling lazy…
1) Wii Fit, Its brilliant! Im Waaaay too lazy and busy running round after childerbeasts to go the gym, I know its not going to give me the same kind of workout but its a giggle and far easier than having to worry about getting changed and dragging my ass out the house to go to an overpriced gym after the kids have gone to bed. I at least can pretend I’m having some form of excercise!
2) Bacon Fries, although they have to be Bacon Fries from my work. Its a weird throwback from my pregnancy cravings. I dont know what it is, but they just seem to taste better from work. The only problem is that the bags arent bloody big enough!
3) Virgin TV on Demand. Lets face it, tv’s shite these days, if its not crap like X factor its naff soaps replaying the same storylines over and over again. I’ve just started watching Six feet under, for some reason I never seem to catch these series when they are first played, so i tend to watch a whole series at once over a few nights. There’s loads of really good stuff on there.
4)”Aquiring” new music for my MP4 player. Ive had a new stereo for my new car that i can plug it straight into, much better than having to swap cd’s every two minutes. if I get bored, I just get rid.
5) Facebook games, theres an application called mindjolt on there that has some seriously addictive games. I usually end up playing a couple of games after Ive finished at work.
Boring addictions I know, but to be honest, I dont really have much time to do anything these days.
Anyway, here are my tags first of all http://a1ly.wordpress.com/ I have the feeling that clothes shopping might figure high on this list lol
Secondly is Wigglesworth http://w1ggy.co.uk/blog
Right, thats it, Ive tagged! Dont forget the basic rules you two, list your addictions and tag two people , not me though as Ive already tagged!!!!!!

Its suddenly dawned on me that this time a week tomorrow my handsome gorgeous little man will be starting his first day at big boy school. Thanks to Richards post about his little girl starting school http://onegeekspeaks.wordpress.com/2008/09/03/entrusting-the-world-with-another-of-my-offspring/
I am now sat here with the sudden realisation that my little big man starts nursery a week tomorrow. He’s about to go into a whole new chapter of his life, one where he wont need Mummy as much and will have stories to tell me that didnt involve me being there! Ive got to admit, as excited as Ive been about him starting Im now starting to feel quite sad that my precious time being the centre of his world is over and done with!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How will I cope? Im already in floods thinking about it, and I admit I used to be one of those people who laughed at parents gushing about how proud they were when thier children started school and how they cried when they left them at the door…. Now Im facing being one of them!
New ways to humiliate Mum and Dad………… September 3, 2008

Why is it that kids always find a new way to humliate you in public?
Jack has a tendancy to shout about having a willy at every given oppurtunity at the minute. We have until now just agreed and said yes you have, and then changed the subject, but he’s twigged onto this and now follows it up with comments about how Daddy has a willy but Mummy doesnt and how little boys have them etc etc.
Im just waiting till the day he stands there, and points to someone then shouts about them being fat!
Does it get any better as they get older?????????
And it gets better….. August 13, 2008

Sunday night we had a wedding on. All went well until locking up again.
One of the guests had forgotten to take his insulin injection as regularly as he should have done, drunk lots and was as a result going into a diabetic coma and fitting in the toilets. There was vomit everywhere and all at once he started coughing up blood. To cut a long story short we called an ambluance (Which took well over 20 minutes to get to us!) and the family started arguing amongst themselvesabout who’s fault it was! One woman even started to blame bar staff for serving him alchohol!!!!!!! we’re not babysitters, unless he has, “I am diabetic and cannot drink so please dont serve me” tattooed across his head then how the hell are we supposed to know??? He was in his 30’s, more than old enough to look after himself!
ANyway, the family ended up fighting and arguing amongst themselves and one of the toilets roll holders ended up getting smashed off the wall, apparently the guy was trying to get tissue out o it but it was more in frustration at the arguments I think
The room was disgusting. They had had a chocolate fountain that had leaked chocolate allove the tables, there was food on the floors, everywhere was covered in fabric petals and rubbish. The family Eventually calmed down and cleared off but it was a nightmare!
Im sick to death of being in these situations!
