Royal wedding celebrations!

Like a good chuck of the uk’s population we joined in with the celebrations for the wedding of prince William and Kate Middleton yesterday. I’m not particularly a royalist and to be honest I think that we pay far to much towards them, however Luke has got very excited in the last few weeks about the wedding so we decided to join in.
We went into Mansfield to watch the arrival And the ceremony on the big plasma screens. Luke spotted someone on tv with his facepainted and decided he wanted his doing so we all ended up with our faces painted as you can see from the picture.
We sat in the Marketplace and watched the main part of the ceremony before heading home to watch the parade and having a cuddle on the sofa while waiting for “the kiss”
Needless to say Luke loved the whole day, jack wasn’t as bothered I don’t think and wandered off to play with his trains.
All in all a good day! Thought that the council could have put a bit more effort into the planning, apart from the soapbox racing there was just the usual radio Mansfield van and a big screen. All a little bit disappointing really but we enjoyed watching it all the same!

We’ve had lots of fun, a day out at the national railway Museum in York was a particular highlight. Would totally Recommend it for a fantastic family day out, entry to the museum is free, parking is about nine pounds but to be fair If you are getting free entry you don’t mind paying it! It was feb half term and the hogwarts express was there. As you can imagine the boys were VERY excited! Unfortunately we queued an hour and a half for a two
Minute ride, slightly disappointing really as we had to rush on and off the train because of the queue sizes. We met Harry and dumbledore and Harry even commented on jack’s mohawk! There was plenty of space to eat our picnic and we had a full day there. The boys loved the bullet train, although jack doesn’t look impressed in the picture above! We will definitely be returning I think!
We’ve also done lots of walking and walked the teversal trail the other day. Luke’s turned into a mountain goat and insisted on climbing every hill and embankment along the way. We managed to get away without andy scrapes and bumps too which is a bonus.

It’s the Easter holidays now so no doubt More photos will be added as the fortnight progresses

My babys growing up fast!

the time has finally come for Luke to start school full time! He goes into reception class this Wednesday! How time flies, it doesn’t seem like two minutes since he was starting at nursery…….

This means that I’m now going to be able to work three days a week during school hours instead of having to spread my hours over five days a week……
No more nursery runs though and no more mummy and Luke time during the day.
I think wednesday Might be emotional!!!

Well another year has passed

and what a year it’s been! I started a new job, jack has had a full year of “big boy” full time school, Karls window tinting buisiness has gone from strength to strength and both boys have doubled in size!!

Here’s hoping 2011 is another good year for everyone!!

Enjoying the weather……

Now I’m working during the daytime (I forgot to update that I now work as a community Development assistant instead of working as a waitress) We’re enjoying the sun after school more than we used to be able to. By the time the boys had finished at school before it was time for me to go work. Tonight we’ve been enjoying the sun and have had a nice trip to Vicars Pond in clipstone and a play on the park. Its nice to be able to do this and enjoy the evenings and then come home have a quick bath and bed.

The boys are enjoying having both Mummy and Daddy in the evenings too instead of Mummy walking out through the door just as Daddy walks in.

Luke’s enjoying his time with his Mummy in the afternoon’s too. He goes to daycare for 2 afternoons a week then the other three are mummy and Luke time. I’ve really noticed a difference in him since Jack has gone to school and they are haivng some time apart. they “seem” to be getting on better. Luke’s coping really well with the longer days and I actually think he’s enjoying going to nursery in the morning then PLA in the afternoon.

Jacks doing well too. After he struggled so much to settle into nursery (He basically screamed every morning for about a year until Luke started nursery with him) I was worried that we would have the same problems at school. He’s been the total opposite! Totally proven me wrong. I’ve had a few o the Mums who help out in school telling me how niely behaved he is in school and how much he makes them smile lol. His imagination is as fertile as ever as you can tell from this post http://nemma.wordpress.com/2010/04/20/theres-a-volcano-erupted-in/

All in allI’m very proud of my little man! although I refuse to admit that they are not so little anymore. Jacks five in June and Luke will be four….. Growing up so fast!

Jacks already through his first term

At school full tim!

How quickly has that gone?

He’s loving it though. Although he is a bit tired and grumpy some nights but getting btter at coping with the longer days now.

Luke’s wanting to go to school all day and keeps asking when he can go. Not till January though mate :(

There’s a volcano erupted in…..

Jack got in the car after shool today and proceeded to tell me in great (and very accurate) detail about how a volcano eruppting was stopping aeroplanes from flying. After telling me all abut how the ash was making the engines stop working and how everybody was sad beause they are still on holiday or cant go on holiday he then told me how he had saved everyone from the volcano. When I asked him if he knew where the vocano had eruppted he looked at me as though I was stupid and said “Its in Niceland Mummy!”

Jesus Lives in our bathroom….

During the holidays Jack was in the bathroom getting his face washed and his teeth brushed (Not really washing the bathroom from ceiling to floor and covering everything in water… Honest!)

Anyway I could hear him chuntering away to himself about various things that 4 year olds talk to themselves about. Five minutes or so later he marches straight through into the middle room walkes over to Luke and says:

“Luke Derner! (complete with pointing finger) I have been talking to Jesus and he says I have got to tell you to be quiet because you are giving me a headache!”

Poor old Luke didnt know what to say. He’d been sat playing really nicely on his own up tll that point and looked quite perturbed to be getting a telling off from jesus for something he hadnt even done lol.

So there you go… We have Jesus in our bathroom!

Elf Yourself!

Ok so its that time of the year again. I know its a little early but we’ve been to a local garden centre today to find a nice christmas display to wander round and put us in the mood… (The one we chose was very dissapointing but thats another story)

Here’s what I’ve spent the evening playing with!

Enjoy the giggle!
