And what do you get on a sunday morning?
Two boys playing quietly with playdough!!!!
We now have green glittery playdough and various “Models” made from playdough. I have some peace and quiet and it took about five minutes to make. Instant calm! lol
The recipe is as follows:
Twwo cups of plain flour
1/2 a cup of salt
1 cup of water
1 and a 1/2 Tablespoons of oil
Food colouring (optional)
Basically mix the salt and flour in a big bowl,
mix a drop of food colouring into the water.
add the oil and water to the bowl.
Mix it all together and hey presto, playdough!
If the mix is still too runny add more flour until your happy with the consistancy, apparently it will keep for up to two weeks in an airtight box.
Much cheaper than shop bought stuff!
I’ll have to try this…. but i will miss the smell of REAL Playdoh! That’s the best “childhood” smell in the world! (That and a brand new box of Crayola crayons!)
this is true. I think I once read somewhere that a perfume company had made a playdough perfume once lol.
The original recipe sais you could add a tablespoon of hand cream so it smelt nice.
Not sure I’d waste mine on it though lol
We have made this for our kids … still a pain to get out of carpets though
As for the smell … There are some kiddie smells that are just too good. (I have used Johnson’s “no-tears” Baby Shampoo since before having children)
