We’ve had a brilliant bank holiday weekend.
We had a trip into town on saturday afternoon and i took a change of clothes and a towel for the kids so they could go in the fountains in the market place.
I bought the water pistols so they could give each other a really good soaking!
We then had a quick trip to Forest Town park. There used to be 3 parks near my Mum and Dads house when we were little, now theres one and it takes at least half an hour to walk there with my two wandering along at snails pace. It’s such a shame. No wonder so many children are obese these days!
Sunday was a very hectic day. We got up and went to Hardwick Hall Farm Shop to watch the sheep shearing. Jack wasnt so bothered but Luke was fascinated. He loved the pig pens too, (They stunk)
Karl and Jack headed off into mansfield for the suit fitting for Aarons wedding next weekend while we stayed to watch more sheep being sheared. I think Lukes favourite part was watching some of the sheep jumping once they had got rid of thier heavy fleeces!
Heres some pictures, The one of th big black pig really doesnt show how huge he really was!
Once we’d finished there we headed into town to meet Karl and Jack. Kids were bored while they were trying suits on so we took them for a quick splash in the fountains……
Sorry Emma and Azz, they got slightly wetter than we thought! lol

And what do you get on a sunday morning?
Two boys playing quietly with playdough!!!!
We now have green glittery playdough and various “Models” made from playdough. I have some peace and quiet and it took about five minutes to make. Instant calm! lol
The recipe is as follows:
Twwo cups of plain flour
1/2 a cup of salt
1 cup of water
1 and a 1/2 Tablespoons of oil
Food colouring (optional)
Basically mix the salt and flour in a big bowl,
mix a drop of food colouring into the water.
add the oil and water to the bowl.
Mix it all together and hey presto, playdough!
If the mix is still too runny add more flour until your happy with the consistancy, apparently it will keep for up to two weeks in an airtight box.
Much cheaper than shop bought stuff!
