what a palaver!

Friday we decided to go to White post farm park with some friends from one of the M&B groups I sometimes go to.

Well,,,,

After getting up at 8.45 and realising I had to be meeting everyone at ten It went from one disaster to the next.

First of all the kids were being a complete nightmare. Wouldn’t get dressed, would under no circumstances co-operate with Mummy and were just in fowl moods. Jack was adamant he wanted wellies on but could I hell as like find one of them??? After a good 15 minutes worth of searching I found in down the back of the sofa (don’t ask)

I eventually got them into their clothes and packed the bag. At this point the plan was to go collect my wages, then nip to asda and get some picnic stuff. At this point we were only running about ten minutes late so I thought we would be there at 10.30 latest.

Easy!

Or so I thought…………………..

I got to work just as Rachel was walking out to the bank. She handed me my wage packet and dashed off to the bank.

I got out to the car and decided to double check how much was in there.

At this point it dawned o me that she had given me the wrong bloody wage packet! There’s another Emma who’s surname is Denyer so I can sort of understand how it happened. I went back in and left her wage packet there. BUT the safe was locked and rachel wouldnt be back for ages.

So I decided to go to asda and then nip back up on my way back through.

Eventually got parked up, fought jack in the usual battle to see if he will go in the trolley (As usual I won) walked round asda and then suddenly had Luke crying and wailing. He’d got his bloody foot stuck in between the seats of the trolley! (I swear to god whichever moron designed asda’s trolleys with child safety in mind deserves and award for stupidity!)

I had to try and get Jack out of the trolley, but his wellies were caught under the lip of the seat so I had to take them off, stick him on the floor and then try and prise Luke’s leg out. Poor kid was crying like mad at this point.

After a quick kiss and cuddle better I put jack back in, stuck his wellies on and continued on with the shopping.

Got to the checkout, rooted round in my bag for my purse, not there! I’d expected to have my wages so hadn’t bothered with my purse!

Trying extremely hard not to swear in front of my already unangelic enough like children I apologised to the checkout lady, walked back to the car and loaded them back in.

Pulled up outside and my phone started to ring. By this time it was 10.15.

As I reached into my bag for my phone, low and behold my purse was in there!!!!!! Tucked up in a clean new nappy!

By this time as you can imagine my hair was getting whiter and whiter by the minute.

So we drove back to asda and loaded them back into a trolley, fought my way to the checkouts (I hate friday shopping, full of ignorant old people who think because they are old you should give them priority) paid for the shopping and then discovered the lady giggling behind me as I was explaining my disastrous day to the checkout lady,  was my old next door neighbour from when I was little (20 years ago to be precise!)

Had a quick chat with her and filled her in on the latest news from our family introduced her to the boys and then went on our merry little way.

I then went to collect my wages and by the time we got there it was almost 12pm and I was knackered, stressed and ready for a coffee!

If I hadn’t have laughed I would have cried!

What happens…

When Karl takes Jack out for an hour to play “Dismantle Uncle Graham’s Car”?

Its suddenly goes black and looks like its going to chuck it down big time!

Poor kid is all excted and has been telling me he’s going to Six it (fix it)

I hope it holds off for long enough

Look at this stud!

Some Photo’s

Haven’t got much to update at the minute. Ive not been feeling 100% so we’ve had a quiet week (I will NEVER take a sick day for granted again!)

Thought instead I would stick some photos up that have been taken the last couple of weeks.

Just a quick rant about washing….

I’ve done six loads over the last two days…. Where the hell does it all come from?

And why is it that despite the fact that Ive done it all I still have loads of odd socks?????????

Kids club

*Edited to include pictures!*

Well Saturday was spent at one of the kids favourite places, The Kids club in Huthwaite. Its a bit soft play/run riot/run their batteries down place. Its basically a huge room with a big fort based on a pirate ship and castle and tower. There’s little tykes cars to play in, slides, ball pits and climbing frames. There’s also a little cafe in the same room for Mum and Dad to have a coffee in whilst the kids tire themselves out.

Jack is in heaven when we go here, he gets to play in loads of cars! Yesterday we went with Sarah and Ellie, Ellie is older than my two (Is she 5 Sarah?) and she was running round like lightening. I got the chance to have a quick catch up with Sarah (Well more of a shout a each other across the chaos!)

I also let Jack have a little bit more freedom than I have done on previous visits, he could run around without having to keep close to me. He’s at an age now where he wants to go explore a little bit more so he was up and down slides on his own, and playing wherever he wanted instead of keeping him close.

Luke has figured out how to push himself along in the toy cars now too so he spent ages doing that. He wasn’t quite so impressed with the slide leading to the ball pit though. I had a go though as you can see below! Karl came up after he had finished work so he was soon roped into climbing across walkways and sliding down slides too.

All in all it was a good way to spend the afternoon. The kids were shattered by the time we left and it was well worth the £4 it cost us for a good couple of hours worth of playing.

*****Update April 09 – The Kids club has been bought by new owners since I typed this and some of the itmes I speak about in this post have been altered. I’m only updating this because I seem to get a few hits from people looking for information on huthwaite kids club. Its not got a big Space themed area that has slides and a ball pit and loads of climbing stuff, Still WELL worth a visit!*****

Search terms…..

Ive just been going through the stats for my blog and noticed that one of the search terms that has bought traffic to my site was “xxx late night visitors”

It bought up this post…

Bet they were dissapointed eh? lol

He’s discovered tv….

Well after two years of ignoring the TV Jack has finally succumbed to the kids TV bug.

We now have endless requests for Pat (Postman Pat) onmas (Thomas the tank engine) Ully (Monsters Inc) Train (Ivor the engine) and Obot (Robots)

Whilst I don’t mind him watching a bit of tv, it amazes me just how quickly and intensely tv programs worm their way into children’s lives!

Take last week, we went into town and had a wander round the shops, normally I can do this quite happily without Jack asking for things, but a quick trip into Woollies soon turned him into one of those tantruming children who’s parents I used to tut in annoyance at.

All for the sake of a postman pat van. Ive never seen the likes of it before from him in my life.

In the end I had to stick him under my arm, (Kicking and screaming) and carry him out of the shop whilst still pushing Luke in the pushchair.

He eventually figured out that while he’s acting like that he gets ignored and frogmarched, so he just gave in in the end.

It just makes me dread future arguments about trainers, clothing and the latest games console!!!!!!!

poorly Jack

Not had much to update with the last few days. Jacks feeling a bit poorly I think so he just wants cuddles and chill time with Mummy or Daddy.

They were supposed to have booster meningitis C jabs on Tuesday, decided not to bother giving Jack his as he just was all snotty and miserable and even the nurse said that she didt think he was his happy normal self.

Luke had his. I hate when they have jabs, I spend ages before fretting about wether or not to give them the jab, then when I decide to I spend ages again worrying about if it will make them poorly, or upset them actually having th jab.

Then when we get there they are fine. Luke squealed a bit when the needle went in, but the chocolate button tin appeared so he soon stopped crying and started munching!

Kids are easily pleased eh?

Anway, Im off to see if they have woken up in a better mood than they went to bed in.

Wish me luck!

Just had to share this picture with you………..

Jack Pob!

How funny is that? lol.

Please feel free to comment. think this one could be a contender for the Happy 18th! photo
